General Director’s Statement

I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all visitors to the official website of the Olympic Complex Authority. I hope they find in this platform a comprehensive source of information regarding the authority and the range of services it provides.
After the renovation work was completed and following a closure period that lasted more than three years, the general administration took the initiative to prepare the health corridor and illuminate it in order to win the bet of bringing back the audience of the Olympic Complex to its former glory under better conditions and more accommodating to the needs and preferences of all user groups.
Regarding this matter, The Olympic Complex Authority strives to make its facilities and spaces the primary destination for sports and leisure in Nouakchott, by ensuring the provision of necessary security and cleanliness services for the comfort of the complex’s visitors and esteemed guests.
In the field of football, the organization of the African Youth Cup at the Olympic Complex was well-received by all stakeholders and observers. Recently, the challenge of completing the necessary equipment to qualify the main football stadium at the Olympic Complex was successfully met. This enabled it to host major matches and sports events and to be officially recognized as a stadium that meets international standards and regulations by the African Football Confederation. It is now qualified to host the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The Olympic Complex Authority seeks to develop and diversify its services to meet all the needs of sports enthusiasts and other users and visitors. In this context, all existing facilities will, God willing, be adapted and equipped with the necessary amenities.
Additionally, new facilities have been planned, which will be unique and contribute to the development of additional sports activities on the national stage, fostering professionalism.
